You're joking...right? Don't substitute with 2 cups of nutmeg. It's a spice....just as if you put 2 cups of salt or sugar in! If you have no bread crumbs, you can grind up some soda crackers instead.

NO! Nutmeg is a spice. A spice with a distinct flavor. Even a tablespoon of the stuff will make your meatloaf horrible!

-- bread (cube it until you have the amount you need)
-- cracker crumbs (Saltines work best, but any kind of cracker works)

Well, unless your family like really spicy food I will not recommend TWO CUPS of nutmeg! Do you know what nutmeg is? It's nothing like breadcrumbs...
First of all who would conceivable even have 2 cups of nutmneg laying around their house. I use the stuff alot but never have any wheres near that much on hand.

The only reason I can think of for your asking this question is that you either heard about, or are using, nutmeg to get high. (That's what ';junkies'; did in the 1970's). Either way, you already knew the answer before asking.
hmm, I don't think so. Possibly but i would not try it. The meatloaf needs the breadcrumbs to hold it together. With nutmeg i think it would fall apart.

Do not use nutmeg, but you can probably use crushed crackers or oatmeal or toast some bread in the oven and crush that. A food processor works good for making crumbs.

No, but you can use cracker crumbs or oatmeal (not the instant, but the quick 1 minute one). I like oatmeal the best. It's healthy and it disappears, but holds together the best, and you can't taste it at all.

Yikes! No!!! Where would you even get 2 cups of nutmeg? I wouldn't think you'd use any nutmeg at all. It's not really a flavor you'd want in a meatloaf. Nutmeg is something you'd generally use by the half - to one tsp. But that does seem like a lot of bread crumbs. I used to use about 3/4 cup Pepperidge Stuffing Mix. I'd soak it in milk to soften, squeeze the milk out and add it to the meat mixture (added seasonings, grated onion, chopped gr. pepper, egg). Now I use a similar stuffing mix stuffing mix only make my own with whole wheat bread %26amp; herbs. (crumble the bread, add herbs of choice, s%26amp;p, mix lightly with a littlel olive oil, and toast in a low oven until crispy. Then store in a zip lock.)

Two CUPS of nutmeg? What taste would come through? You could always crunch up some unsweetened cereal. The bread crumbs are fillers, and should add little flavor. You could probably do without them, but would have a denser meatloaf.
You are kidding, right. Nutmeg is a spice to be used as a seasoning not a whole meal. If your recipe calls for 2 cups of bread crumbs then you better have a lot of meat.
