In this recipe, can i use crumbled crackers instead of bread crumbs?

INGREDIENTS

* 8 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

* 2 (1 ounce) packages ranch dressing mix

* 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

2. Combine dressing mix and bread crumbs in a plastic bag. Add chicken and shake until coated.

3. Place coated chicken pieces on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and juices run clear. Serve with rice or potatoes, if desired.

I dont have bread or bread crumbs.. so would it hurt or ould be the same or what if i used crackers instead? In this recipe, can i use crumbled crackers instead of bread crumbs?
The crackers will make it a little saltier than the bread crumbs, so if the recipe calls for additional salt, reduce the amount or omit it altogether. The texture will be slightly coarser than with bread crumbs, too, but other than that, you can substitute cracker crumbs with no problem.

PS. How did you and your fiance like the chili-mac casserole? ;-)In this recipe, can i use crumbled crackers instead of bread crumbs?
I would try Cheese flavored crackers. YUM
No I don't think it'll hurt at all. It should taste just as good.
it will be fine....use Ritz if you have them and make ';chicken on the Ritz';
Yes you can, In fact you can use a variety of crackers too. Ritz are great, Soda/saltine crackers work well, and the ranch dressing sounds great, you can also toss in a few TBLS of flour for good measure! ;-)
you most certainly can use crackers. i also dry out bread for a few hours and then crumble it up. cheaper than buying the breadcrumbs. either crackers or your own breadcrumbs are acceptable.
Sounds good, go for it. Probably be a little salty if you use saltines, though.
When I was reading this question ritz and townhouse came to mind.
Sure! experiment! that's how the best recipes are made!
yes you can
If making your own cracker crumbs make sure you crush the crackers well with a rolling pin, first putting crackers or broken bits into a seal able bag,end result should be even crumbs.Crumbs of bread, cracker or corn flakes can be interchanged with ease in any recipe, check for saltiness of cracker crumbs before seasoning chicken %26amp; adjust salt accordingly .

.
It wont hurt in the least. Use them.
go ahead and use the crackers. it shouldn't hurt the dish
You can use:

Ritz or Saltine crackers

Crumbled potato chips

Finely ground nuts (almonds or pecans)

Each will give a different texture and flavor - all will work
