I lost my recipe for wampus bread that used shredded potatos and onions. It is made with cornmeal and is fried in cakes on a griddle. Would love to find it again if anyone can help.Help please a recipe for wampus bread!?
2 c. self-rising cornmeal

2 c. self-rising flour

1 lg. onion, minced

2 med. potatoes (minced)

1/2 tsp. pepper

3 lg. eggs

1 can stewed tomatoes

Vegetable oil for frying

In large bowl mix dry ingredients. Add beaten eggs and strewed tomatoes, beginning with meat of choice and adding liquid as needed for dropping consistency dough. Should be wet enough to fall easy from large spoon but not so wet to break up when tested in fryer. Drop into very hot oil, should be deep enough to allow bread to float. Turn the bread once, brown on both sides. Serve hot with meat of your choice.
